MAXLAB - Lund, Sweden
Date Posted: Monday, August 13, 2007
The heart of MAX-lab is the electron storage rings where electromagnetic waves - synchrotron light - are created by accelerated electrons. The wavelength of this light covers a wide part of the spectrum - from infrared radiation to hard x-rays. This is achieved by the use of very fast circulation of electrons with a velocity close to the speed of light.
